Are our lives void of challenges when walking with God? 😪 🤷🏾‍♂️

Exodus 23:29-30; Deuteronomy 15:7-8, 10-11

With God, everything truly works together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. This means that in painting God’s canvas for our lives, there’s a role for the good and bad strokes of the brush.

Looking at this Israelite story where God said that He won’t immediately drive out all their enemies from the land lest the land become desolate and full of animals:

  • God was thinking way beyond what their finite minds could comprehend. They probably asked: “why are we still needing to struggle in our promised land?”
  • Rather, time needed to pass so that as the Israelite population expanded, gradually the enemies got driven out and they took possession. Basically, the land would have been tilled already and the Israelites would just swoop in to enjoy the harvest as the enemies got kicked out. 😁

With our human minds, we often expect that once God is involved that all our problems disappear. But God’s ways are one of sowing and reaping, toiling and resting, yielding and pruning, summer and winter, day and night etc. Everything in its season; all He does or allows is perfect and for our good.

For example, one may ask that why are there poor people in the house of God? God Himself said that the poor will always be with us (Deut 15:7-8, 9-11) 🤷🏾‍♂️ so that we His children will always have room to show kindness to others and become co-workers with Christ in bringing light to a dark world. It’s to help His children know that we’re merely stewards of any wealth or possession in our hands, as it’s God that grants us the power to get wealth. That there are poor people around will always be a severe test for any human who thinks he’s perfect in God’s eyes but has ignored the needs of his brother. All men, rich and poor, are equal in God’s eyes, as it was one death on the cross that saved us all.

We just need to stay our trust in Him through life’s highs and lows, seeking FIRST His righteousness, and every other thing will surely be added unto us. No matter how bad the situation may look, God has a million ways of turning it around in our favor as long as we’re focusing on Him. 🙏🏾
