The price of staying indolent/slothful, lacking in diligence/excellence, failing to practice great faith in God, is too steep to pay - it's the attainment of your destiny, discovering your God-given purpose. A man that is only diligent in prayer but is not diligent in the tasks nearest at hand, the daily realities of life, fools only himself. God is not mocked. In this post, we look at a story you've probably never thought about this way before. It is the story of Saul and how a combination of his obedience, diligence in the small things, and faith - despite his natural inclination to give up - combined to lead him to the doorpost of his purpose i.e. to become the first King of Israel.

The Fool: He who does not learn the lessons from his trials
A few months back, a friend of mine went through a shocking injury experience. One time we were pondering why this could have happened, so we ended up studying Deuteronomy 8:2-5 (AMP). There are so many lessons to take away from these verses, that I encourage you to meditate on them. For this post, there’s a segment that I want to double click on i.e. “to know what was in your heart (mind), whether you would keep His commandments or not”. In essence, God allowing us to go through a challenging experience is partly because He’s interested in knowing how you would respond: 1) during the crisis, but also importantly, 2) after the crisis. I also explore why your tests are not random, but specially curated for you, whilst also exploring the link between how we respond to life’s trials and the fate of our lives.
The dark side of pride – when we forget our source
God who lifts man high also brings him down. In His word, God has given us the formula to unlock the windows of heaven and how to revel in His blessings. But He’s also often cautioned us about the risk of forgetting the source of our blessings. To help whip us in line is partly why God uses silent/wilderness seasons to refine us like gold, to re-calibrate our focus to Him when we lose track, or to prepare us for the next level of our walk with Him (e.g. Moses, Joseph, David, Job, Paul, Jesus etc.).
The ‘how’ is just as important to God as the doing of His instructions
The ‘how’ is just as important to God as the doing of His instructions. Continuing willfully in sin after receiving the truth is abusing God’s grace and there are significant consequences. 🙅🏾♂️
The secret to long-lasting, God-given success/prosperity
1 Kings 3:5-14 Solomon asked God for an understanding heart to discern justice. In response, God unconditionally made him the wisest man ever but added to this by making him the richest and most honorable king in all his days. Seeking first the kingdom of God caused God to add all other things unto Solomon. Matt … Continue reading The secret to long-lasting, God-given success/prosperity
