Romans 9:11-16; Romans 9:18-24
But basically it’s saying two things:
- Indeed there is something called divine election; and as clay, we cannot question the potter, God. However, every human always has the opportunity to repent and this is evident in God’s long suffering.
- We can also look at the case of the Israelites who were God’s chosen people. If God wasn’t a merciful God then all the gentiles (who are not God’s elect) would be doomed. But God says that if you believe in Him, you are grafted in and become spiritual Israel.
In summary, God has mercy on whom He will have mercy but is surely always just. We will all have chances to be saved and our end will depend on the truth we knew and what we chose to do after knowing the truth.
We’re saved by faith through grace (Eph 2:8-9). But if we say we love and know God then we must keep His commandments otherwise we’re liars. (1 John 2:4). 🚶🏾♂️🙏🏾🍿
