Isaiah 35:6-8; Isaiah 43:18-20; 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
Like Joseph or the Israelites’ journey, God first shows us a vision of our future (perhaps through a burning desire or He speaks to us), then there’s the wilderness experience (where God seems distant and we’re receiving only what we need and not what we want) to prepare us (like old wine bags must be prepared before receiving new wine or gold going through fire), then we receive the promise!
He says that we should forget the former things and not be hamstrung by our past experiences or what God did in the past. This is because in the wilderness, God will do a new thing! A new thing as impossible as roads and rivers appearing in the wilderness! We simply need to trust Him and obey His word through it all and we’ll see a new move of the Holy Spirit. In retrospect, it would have been only but a light affliction. 🙌🏾🙏🏾
Isaiah 35:6-8 defines the Highway of Holiness with God. 💡🤓
