Sometimes we doubt that God is with us even after we’ve seen clear evidence of His work in our lives in the past. It’s perhaps comforting to see that even great prophets like Elijah weren’t immune to this, which should point to how the devil works. 😾😡
Elijah had literally just made prayers which brought fire down from heaven and caused rain to fall after 3.5 yrs of drought. Just a message from Queen Jezebel, King Ahab’s wife who was in charge of the Baal & Asherah prophets (she didn’t see the fire miracle and was angry that Elijah had killed her prophets), is what made Elijah flee a day’s journey and pray that he might die. 😣
God knows that we can be subject to these fears sometimes. But just like He did with Elijah, He is ever so close by us and ready to comfort and strengthen us for the journey ahead. Again, how He does this might be through small signs of hope (like Elijah had just a small meal that prepared him for a 40-day journey), but we should hold on to these signs and move forward boldly, in faith. 🙏🏾🙌🏾
